About Franchising
Starting a franchise is a big step, so it’s important you understand how it works.
Your business, our support
A franchisee owns and runs their own business using the brand, systems and support of an established company (the franchisor). You’ll avoid the mistakes of going it alone because the franchisor has already made those mistakes and learned from them.
Your success is our success
A good franchisor only makes money when its franchisees are profitable. Poppies doesn’t profit from new franchise sales; your investment goes into getting you set up in business. That’s why we’re so passionate about helping you succeed: franchising is a partnership of shared interests.
Statistically, it’s lower risk
The British Franchise Association and NatWest conduct annual, anonymised research into franchising. For more than 25 years in a row, approximately 90% of franchisees have reported a profit and under 5% have closed because of commercial failure. Failure rates are much greater in independent businesses.
No experience required
With comprehensive pre-launch training and ongoing business support, previous industry experience is less important with a franchise than your attitude and ambition. Your passion for the business and the brand is far more important than your CV.
All systems go
Franchising offers you a proven model, like a business blueprint, which has been shown to work over a sustained period of time and in multiple locations. That means you’ll be expected to follow the systems in place, while also having the chance to contribute your own ideas to improve on them.
