Domestic cleaning services Keighley

Former lecturer Mason Brewer has embarked on a new career, as a franchisee for domestic cleaning brand Poppies.

The 24-year-old was working successfully as a sports lecturer in further and higher education, but he had long harboured an entrepreneurial ambition to run his own business.

“I was seeking a better work-life balance and was ambitious to build something of my own,” says Mason.

“I’ve always had the passion and determination to be my own boss and develop a business but the problem was deciding which sector I would work within, having only ever known fitness, sport and exercise.

“Starting a business from scratch was daunting, but after doing some research I came across franchising and the Poppies business model. There was no way that I could turn down this opportunity.”

Poppies, founded in Durham in 1980, operates a network of franchises providing cleaning services in 30 locations across the UK.

Mason says his Poppies of Bradford franchise “aligns perfectly with the city’s vibrant and diverse spirit” as Bradford district prepares for its City of Culture year.

“It will be amazing to build-up a business in my home county,” he adds.

“I hope that Poppies of Bradford will help provide jobs to a range of people, particularly those in need of flexible work.”
