From Monday 19th July the government has agreed that most, if not all restrictions will be dropped regarding the Coronavirus. However, the virus has not disappeared and we still have a responsibility to keep our customers and ourselves safe while we are at work. There is still a Health & Safety at Work Imperative driving this.
Until further notice, all Poppies staff will continue to wear the PPE that we supply – it is the only protection we have, along with social distancing, hand washing and ventilation. We have a duty of care to our customers.
All our staff have been very conscientious and I think this has helped to keep us all safe and well. Not one member of staff has been seriously ill with Covid-19. We’ve only had two people test positive out of a staff of 29 since last March 2020. I take this to be really good sign that people are being sensible.
Poppies staff have been informed that this is our current policy and it will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
When we started back at work last May in 2020, I indicated that we would not send any of our staff to someone’s home if we were concerned about their health status. Likewise, all our customers have been great in communicating with us if they’ve had any concerns about our staff attending. This has worked really well and I thank all our customers for their continued support.
Thank you and please STAY SAFE!
