You may have seen here at Poppies are advertising our current job vacancies locally. This is due to popular demand, and trying to keep up with our ever-growing client list.

Here at Poppies we want to be the best employer possible, we feel this benefits our staff along with our client base. If we have happy employees, we then in turn have happy customers.

The question we get asked most, is why work for Poppies? This question is asked by potential staff and also by potential clients, so let us try and explain why coming to work for Poppies could be a great idea;

  • Flexible Hours to suit all needs

Here at Poppies we are proud to be able to offer school-friendly hours for those who would like to work around childcare. We understand how hard it can be for some parents to get back into work and want to still be there at the end of a school day. We are more than happy to accommodate most hours and we offer the advantage of no evenings, weekends or bank holidays (unless you want it)!

  • Great rates of Pay

Poppies is proud to be a Living Wage Employer. We understand our staff deserve to be paid well for the hard work they carry out for us. We are aware of all pay rise increases and any government legislation changes when it comes to wages. We also offer paid holidays and statutory sick pay based on earnings.

  • Regular clients

Here at Poppies we have a large client base that spans all ages, and walks of life. One thing we can offer is regular clients whose homes will be serviced weekly, fortnightly or monthly. We feel this gives both our staff and clients the opportunity to create a bond. This helps both parties to feel comfortable around each other and the staff know the jobs that need to be done.

  • Contract of employment

Poppies offer all their staff a full contract of employment. We feel this gives our staff security when taking on the role. Our staff need to feel valued and to know they always have work available. Contract includes holiday entitlement, bonuses and (an optional) pension scheme.

  • Travelling Costs

Here at Poppies we do always try to keep our staff in a local area day to day so there isn’t much travelling involved. This is not always possible so as an extra bonus we offer travelling expenses for travelling in-between clients.

  • Reliable, referred staff

Here at Poppies we make sure all our staff are interviewed, referred and vetted to a high standard. We want to be confident that our clients are safe and secure with their cleaner, and we go to great lengths to make sure that happens.

  • Highly trained staff

When recruiting staff we do prefer to hire those with previous cleaning experience, but this isn’t always possible. All of our new staff, whether experienced or not, go through a rigorous training program to ensure they are prepared when getting started in a clients house. Our supervisors take new staff under their wing and show them the ropes on the job. Our new cleaners are never left on a job alone until they feel 100% comfortable. Throughout their time with us, the staff will attend training courses around cleaning, health and safety, first aid etc.

  • Insured and Quality checked

Along with all the training we put our staff through, clients can rest assured that all of our of businesses and staff are fully insured if the worst case scenario was to happen. We try and carry out Quality Checks on each cleaner monthly to make sure Poppies standards are adhered to.

  • Continuity

At Poppies we try our very best to make sure each of our clients have the same cleaner attend for every visit. This in turn helps the client and staff build a bond, it also ensures the cleaner is aware of the jobs that need to be carried out. Here at Poppies we also ensure that all holidays and sickness are covered in advance so our clients will never miss a service. This helps when it comes to vulnerable clients in particular.

Our Poppies ethos is to make sure our clients and staff are always happy. We have dedicated office staff who can answer any queries or deal with any problems should they arise. Our offices are open Monday and Friday and our staff are aware of all our local clients and their services.
